WAX

We were assigned to create a jewelry piece in wax and then casting it. Once the jewelry was completely finished and when we were satisfied with it, we had to make a wax mold of the piece. This way, we learned how to produce many duplicates of the original.

SNAKE RING

Making it in wax, It was difficult to capture all the details, so it ended up looking like a snake. I primarily used a needle to shape the face. After the original was casted, I was still not satisfied with the details in the snake's face. It lacked some depth around the eyes. Therefore, I chose to solder some small silver pieces above the eyes to give it the exact expression I wanted.

PARASITE RING

After making the snake ring, I wanted to see if I could repeat the process at home. It was a challenging task because I didn't have any of the tools we used at school making it. Therefore, I had to create all the parts from scratch, such as cutting aluminum plates for the actual form and also for making the small funnel.

It was fun to try, but it was definitely easier to create the shape at school with all the professional tools. Fortunately, it succeeded in the end and the result turned out well.

Some of the things that I have made during the time I have been studying at KEA.
